the gear here at G7TPL changes quite rapidly, here is the current state of affairs.
the main station is located in IO83ql square, and consists of:-
RADIO's:
the heart of the system, my main HF/6m rig is the awesome Icom IC756 pro3, with a Heil PRO-PLUS Ic headset.there is also an SP23 speaker connected.
my VHF/UHF set is a Standard C5900 tri-band FM, covering 6/2/70.
my CB is a President Jackson2, the ONLY type approved CB radio in the UK with SSB!
I also use a Ranger AR-3500 for 10m, an outstanding radio given it's age!
PSU's:
I use the Watson W-30AM 30amp linear PSU on the desk, for all the radio's.
there is an Astron RS-35 under the bench, for test purposes.
AMP's:
I have a Yaesu FL2100z connected to the pro3, for HF use, and use 400w where allowed.
there is no amp on the 6m side at the moment, watch this space!
TUNER's:
to compliment the 2100z, there is an FC-102 tuner, with the FAS1-4 antenna switch fitted.
I also have an FC-902, as a backup.
TOWER:
this is a heavily modified Strumech P60 Versatower, salvaging the bottom section as a groundpost, the new 2 section tower sits at 25' when retracted, and about 40' when wound up.
have a look at the MAST pictures to see the construction, thanks to Keiron for the welding!
ROTATOR's:
currently there is a Ham M rotator on the tower, with a type IV controller.
a Yaesu G400 lives on the 2nd mast for the 6m yagi.
ANTENNA's:
this is where the fun begins!
on the tower, there are 2 Cushcraft's, the A3S has the A743 40m add-on, and the A3WS for WARC.
above these is the Diamond V2000 6/2/70 tri-band vertical for the Standard.
I also use a Butternut HF2v, for 40/80m, ground mounted with a fair few radials fitted.
a recent upgrade was the Cushcraft A50-6S, 6 element 6m yagi, which replaced it's 5ele brother.
this is on a 21' aluminium pole at the moment, but I am on the lookout for a small(30') mast for it.
I use a modified Sirio 827 vertical, with 4 full 1/4wave radials, for CB/10m.
mobile is the Yaesu FT857d, mated with the ATAS120a antenna.
see the pics in the gallery!!
